Do UCs look at your weighted or unweighted for freshman admisson?

They allow a certain number of approved weighted grades. I forget what the number is, though, but I think the highest UC GPA is around a 4.5 or less. Check the website.

what if your unweighted is really bad but then your weighted is much better? would that leave some sort of bad impression and counted against you or they only consider the weighted one?

I'm not sure what you mean, but basically, I think they allow 8 total semester grades to be weighted, and the rest not. I believe you get to choose them, too. If I am mistaken, I apologize, but I think I'm not. Can anyone verify this or correct it?

Highest UC GPA is 5.0 , top kid in my school has 5.0, believe it or not 30 kids have between 4.5 to 5.0.

UCs has a limited number of classes you can use as weighted, and then they limit how many you will add the extra points. GPA goes down like crazy.

actually sonic pwr i think the uc gpa caps out at a 4.5

UC gaps out at 5.0, honors is .025, ap is 1 pt, max is pts total

max is 8pts total

Max is 4 year-long classes, i.e. 8 semester classes.
To get a 5.0, you'd have taken only a total of 8
semester classes in 10th/11th grades ... so you're
not going to have all the UC required a-g classes,
and the UC GPA calculation will be irrelevant ...
because you won't be considered any way!

Thank you blaw
