"Admission decisions will be released on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. PST.

So nervous about tomorrow…UCSB has such a highly ranked Physics Department. Really want to get accepted. UC GPA 4.06 3.86 UW 31 ACT

@ucseeu
You guessed it, that was my first post on the forum. Thanks.

@SwissAlps17 I applied to the College of Creative Studies, although in Writing and Literature. It’s a smaller school within UCSB that has about 400 undergrads and they call it the graduate school for undergraduates. It’s really meant for people who know what they want to do. Getting invited is a big deal because CCS students are treated more like graduate students. You have more privileges than honor kids and you can get in to almost any class you want. Your CCS mathematics classes are much more difficult, however, and more fast paced as well. They will challenge you more. The application process and other information can be found here: https://ccs.ucsb.edu/math. It’s a two step process, with you first getting into UCSB, and then the faculty at CCS reviewing your application to find out if you are a good fit. The application requires two letters of recommendation, work in evidence of talent, and a letter of intent. You should check it out. I went to the reception yesterday and attended their break out session. Their applications are rolling, so if you submit within the next two weeks, you will be able to hear for the fall quarter. If you are not accepted, you can apply quarterly as well. Good luck!

@CharmedKS1997 CCS applications are rolling? That would explain why I still got in despite turning it in a week late.

I applied to CCS Biochem and was invited to the chancellor’s reception, but no email like @SwissAlps17 :confused:

did anyone else get the email about “your ucsb counselor” or whatever?

@madsurf
I did not but did get the reception invite

I got into Davis and i’m praying to god I somehow get into UCSB… how similar are the two in admissions decisions and acceptance percentages?

Davis is around 40% and SB is 36% so around the same but to admit stats are higher for SB. Good luck!
@njclass2016

Anyone know if financial packages are also posted with admissions?

@madsurf I got the counselor email but I don’t think it really means anything if everyone got it…which I assumed did because it had info about when decisions would be released

@Undercovermom1
I’m not sure about UCSB specifically, but they were at UCR, UCSD and UCD for me, so I would guess so.

@collegehopeful4321 I have checked with some of my friends who have high stats and none of them received the meet your counselor email nor a chancellor’s invite which I thought was strange.

@collegehopeful4321
@wilddaffodils
I did not receive the email so everyone definetly did not get it.

@wilddaffodils hmm…that’s weird because I thought the email was a bit generic. But maybe it means something
