@Niceguy720720 If you’ve already gotten into UCSD, I say you have a pretty good shot at Regents. Also, thanks for the response…I guess that shows how unpredictable/unrelated all the UCs are. I got into UCI w/ CHP, but no word from UCSB, UCSD, or any of the other UCs yet.

@strgrl123 they probably don’t have any correlation. I’ve seen people get into a top tier UC but not a mid tier one.

Does anyone know if the College of Engineering majors at UCSB are impacted/capped like the USCD ones?
@cheeesecake99 I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to get at, but if you didn’t apply for Engineering it can be tough to get in once you’re there, but not impossible from what I understand. If you did get accepted into an Engineering major, they will guarantee you the required classes that you need (at least ME does, I assume the others too). Once you’re in the major, you shouldn’t have trouble getting the classes required for your major. As a Regents scholar, you will also have an earlier pass time when you schedule classes (after fall quarter) and will have an easier time getting the GE courses that you want and the section times your prefer.

Son got Regents just now in the mail. We’re in NorCal. It was mailed 2/23. (He only got CHP in the UCI notification.)

I received the Chancellors Reception invite, but not regents yet. Two of my friends have received regents already, so does that mean I won’t get it because I haven’t yet?
@SCGoalie00 You might still get it later on this week. Even if you don’t get it, don’t be discouraged. Each UC looks for different things, and not getting SB Regents doesn’t mean anything for other UCs. I heard that SB focuses heavily on volunteering, so people with a lot of volunteering and community service have a better chance at Regents there. Similarly, other UCs will look at other things.
