My daughter has been accepted to CalPolySLO, ASU, and UofAZ as a business major. She wants to study accounting and/or finance. She's waiting to hear from UCSB and SDSU. We live in the San Diego area, and she doesn't want to be too far from home for college (all of the schools I've named are close enough). She thinks she wants to live in California once she completes college.

[SDSU is probably her last choice because we live so close that it would almost be like a continuation of high school for her.]

She's been a good student in high school (4.3 weighted, 3.7 unweighted).

I'm wondering about the pro's and con's of the accounting/finance programs at the schools I've named, particularly relating to obtaining employment in southern California after college. I'm also interested in how actively the students from these various programs are recruited once they're approaching graduation.

I'd couldn't see chooseing the Arizona schools over the CA ones, their admissions standards are much below the UCs and CP, and especially paying OOS rates!

I'd say Cal Poly or UCSB. Those are the top 2 out of your list. Of course, it's her preference, there a lot of engineering students at Cal Poly, like 25%. But they are building brand new dorms that are coming out this year.

However at UCSB, its literally at the beach, cooler weather than san luis obispo. But there seems to be quite a lot of parties there. So it's pretty even.

Does anybody know about recruiting at these schools, especially for accounting? Are some of these campuses more heavily recruited from than others?

Does anybody know anything about employment rates, job locations, and salaries for business undergrads from these schools?

The jobs CP accounting majors are getting are not bad and I'd have to think SB does a bit better. Here's info from CP and there's a discussion about this on the business major board.
