Cal Poly SLO, U of A, and SDSU

Hello everyone,

I’m down to three choices, Cal Poly SLO, U of A, and SDSU. I’m leaning towards Cal Poly because i was accepted into their green light program (accelerated business course) and the fact that they have a 4 year business program. My mind is pretty much set, i just want to see what everyone else would do in this situation. I want to get a Dual degree in Finance and Accounting.

thanks,
Jeff W. Herman

I'd definitely go Cal Poly. SDSU and U of A are too big for my tastes. Have you taken a tour of the business school at Cal Poly? It's phenomenal.

If you want to graduate with a degree that is actually respected in the job field, i would not recommend SDSU. Whenever i tell people i go to SDSU, they always say "oh, the party school". SDSU doesn't have any major companies who come to our job fairs --compare that with people who go to Cal Poly and U of A. SDSU is good in the sense that we are close to the beach. and, if you want to have an awesome time at parties and be around the hottest girls, then you might like SDSU. but if you want a reputable program, i wouldn't recommend it.

SDSU was rated one of the best party schools by Playboy magazine. Not to mention the really hot girls. But if you are serious about your education go to cal poly.

SDSU Job fair....

AXA advisors, Vanguard, Wells Fargo corporate, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Washington Mutual, AG Edwards, LandAmerica (one of the largest commercial real estate firms in America) to name a few...these are not major companies? I guess the fortune 500 does not suffice.

Also Deloitte and Touche and all the big accounting firms recruit at SDSU. I supose it would depend on your major.
