Is anyone here planning on going?

the one in san jose?
i'm going.

I might go to the one in LA. Let me know how it goes.

Cool. If you don't mind, could you tell those of us who didn't go what happened/what they told you when you come back? That'd be nice thanks

I went to the one in San Jose today, it was nice. They told us we got in right away, they showed a video, and I guess they had Q&A and special presentations for each individual college, but I left before (it was pretty lengthy). Some good looking girls I might add.

"Some good looking girls I might add."

excellent

:)

Did they mention anything about undergrad research? Do you know if there's a link to the video online?

Did they talk about the honors program at all while you were there?

^Um, they were saying that the honors program was not an actual "program" but rather a series of classes...or something, I was pretty tired

^They talked about research in the creative studies school, which sounds really cool "graduate level research as an undergraduate"

and sorry, can't find the video

What is the creative studies school?

I also went. I think UCSB seemed pretty awesome.
lol, and there were a few "good looking" guys there as well.

How does UCSB compare to Irvine? Can someone explain the honors thing at SB?

I actually visited Irvine, it was a really nice school in a good area. It seemed to be really big on its science majors.

& I honestly did not get the whole honors thing, it was pretty confusing...you might wanna check out their website.

I like the honors program at Irvine (I'm a bio major), but I got regents at UCSB, so I want to know if SB is as good as Irvine. Did you like SB better than Irvine? What in particular did you like about SB?

I haven't seen the campus yet...but I loved the staff they were all really nice. & I guess five of the professors have won the Nobel prize.
I think i'm sold on SB & i am a bio major as well.

I can't say if one is better than the other, to me they seem pretty much equal.

How does the honors thing at SB work? Are all students required to do undergrad research/senior thesis like at Irvine? Are the classes smaller?

yeah they are all required to do undergrad research/ senior thesis.

And the classes are about 45 to 1 & in the College of Creative Sciences i think its like 10 to 1. (I think UCI was about the same)

What is the college of creative sciences? Is that the honors program?

um no, it's like for art and music majors..like the College of Engineering is for all majors dealing with engineering.

anyway if you do choose to go to UCSB it would be cool to know a few people.
hit me up at myspace.com/guiltonskin =)

Sbillings,

You're sold on UCSB? Over UCLA/UCB? I'm sure if you were invited to the reception today you have a shot at getting accepted at those 2 schools.
