UCSB Chancellor's Reception

I just got this email:

"In the past few days, you should have received an invitation to the upcoming UC Santa Barbara Chancellor’s Receptions that will be held in March.

We know you may have questions about the invitation to the receptions, so we are pleased to send you additional information, below.

Thank you for your interest in UCSB. We look forward to seeing you!"

And then theres a list of dates and some FAQs that follow.

"Does this mean I have been admitted? Who was invited to the receptions?
Your invitation does not indicate that you have been admitted. However, they were only sent to our highest achieving applicants in certain regions."

So...does this basically mean people who've gotten this have been accepted with a scholarship?

No scholarship, but the consensus seems to be it means admission;

From last year

^Oh, my bad. I should have checked the other threads around here. But thanks for the links.

No worries... I spend way to much time here....

I got that mail yesterday too. I think the part "Your invitation does not indicate that you have been admitted. However, they were only sent to our highest achieving applicants in certain regions" seems to contradict itself though lol. Anyway, since it says that whether you're attending the reception or not, it doesn't affect your admission. So... I guess I'm not gonna go -
