UCSB chances?

Hello! I want to apply to UCSB’s college of Letters and Science, and here are my stats:

UC GPA: 3.83 capped, 3.91 uncapped
3 AP classes, 2 dual enrollment at a local college
I struggled in the beginning years of high school due to undiagnosed ADHD but I show upward trend (3.4/3.4/3.8/4.2) <—10th grade semesters to 11th.
ACT: 33 C, 34 superscored
In state resident

EC:
Track and field - 4 years
Volleyball - 2 years
Cross country -4 years
Volunteered to help special needs kids learn to play the piano, helped mentor them in track and school
(A lot of my EC revolve around special needs kids because of a personal connection/experience I had when I was diagnosed with ADHD)

What are my chances? I know my GPA is rather low for this school, but I really want to get in.

Bump

Anyone?

I would be surprised to see you not accepted. You are pretty solid for UCSB. Are you applying anyhere else?

Hard as it is to believe, your GPA is a bit off pace for UCSB. Your ACT is strong and may make up the gap but, honestly, it is going to take a strong application and a little luck…

Take a look at UCSC, UCR and SDSU.

Good luck

@NCalRent yes, I’m very aware my GPA is off pace for UCSB. I’m not interested in UCSC or UCR because I don’t like the environments there, but I already intended to apply for SDSU. I’m planning on talking about my ADHD and addressing that as the reason for my academic issues earlier in the year.

Fortunately your upper trend will make a bit for your GPA but as @NCalRent recommended look for other UCs like UCSC, UCR

@paul2752 I know, I just don’t plan on looking at other UC schools besides SB, SD, and UCI. I’m applying to privates and CSU for the rest of them. I wasn’t that interested in the UC systems, and wasn’t really looking at UCSC or UCR because like I said before, I don’t like the environment there. Thanks for the suggestions tho.

Anyone else? Bump(need more opinions)

Your stats look good. The GPA will probably be an issue at the UC’s because the competition is tough. Apply anyway, but focus on the Special Needs volunteer work in any essays.

Good luck!

@“aunt bea” thank you!
