@collegevetting Thanks for your reply! So you’re saying that Chemical Engineering IS impacted? And what do you mean I’ll be considered for Letters and Sciences? Isn’t that like a whole college/section of the school and not a specific major? Thanks!

you’re definitely a tidbit on the low side… neither the SAT or ACT is overly impressive and your GPA’s a little low. But UCs definitely look holistically and will definitely consider your decent personal statements and extracurriculars. So GL

Mangoaway…ucsb ,SAT average is 1915…So you’d better send ACT score alone…

@jadenio I am not certain if Chemical Engineering is technically impacted however, Engineering in general is more competitive stats wise. And yes, Letters and Sciences is one of the three colleges there, NOT the Engineering college, but you could have a math major or chem major biology… the division of Math and Physical Sciences is part of Letters and Sciences, as well as the Humanities courses (English, History, Social Sciences etc.) I know Engineering and pre med are ‘the things to be’ right now, but if I wanted to go into sciences and were going to UCSB I’d have a hard time not taking Marine Biology given how highly they are rated for that, worldwide. Pre med isn’t a problem with an L&S background anyhow. (My niece graduated from there and is now waiting for her residency results after medical school.) If you did get put into L&S you’d have time to look into it.

I’m an international student, really hopin to get into UCSB! We’ll know in about8 hours. Good luck everyone!
