Yes, UCSB really does look for well rounded students to construct a unique freshman class, so you guys should be in no way worried ^^
@bayboi707 - because people have been rejected or wait listed from UCSD and UCD. My D did not get Chancellor reception with GPA - W 4.27, ACT 33, SAT II Math 2 - 760, Chem 760, and 7 APs…who knows what the criteria actually are for acceptance.
@ucladeb Honestly its because the UCs truly do view on a holistic approach, so there is no telling what UC you will get into until you see the decisions. Basically all the chance me threads are kinda useless. Even year to year what UCs look for is changing.
Does anyone know if scholarship awards will be included with your decision in the portal today?
@stephrass They should be, but if they aren’t they definitely will be next Monday when FA comes out. Today I know for sure it will show if you made it into the honors college or not.
@imjennah - you are spot on - it is holistic - fortunately, my D has been accepted to the only two UCs that she appliced to so far, that have posted admission - UCSD and UCSC (with application for first year honors) - waiting for UCSB, UCLA and UCB…so relieved that this process is almost over. It has been torture!

I majored in pharmacology but was put into pre-biology
@Word1238 I was told that there is a certain formula that admissions puts ‘aspects’ (didn’t clarify if it was stats but iI assume so) that determines your eligibility for honors, and if you meet a certain number then your in!
