This wait is giving me anxiety…
@College4Fun the sir deadline is July 2nd so I’ve got plenty of time to decide. I personally don’t care for UCR but if I can’t go to UCSB I’ll go there. I haven’t found a single person on this thread have the same major as I do so I’ll stick with UCSB for now. There’s no rush in deciding where to go now, maybe you’ll get in UCSB too.
@ctehin I got the invitation at mid may, I think is because I was not offered admission from any school I applied to that’s why I got invited

Someone called the office before said is not by majors, it by room space.
If we wait till last day, that must be rejection.Someone said the rejection always release at end of the cycle. Hope we can get at this week, I feel so bad after I checked the portal every day.

@ctehin My GPA was actually pretty bad. I previously attended Cal Poly SLO and then took a few classes in the past year at a CC so my overall GPA was barely 3.0 at the end of this year. I was dealing with serious personal issues during my time at Cal Poly so I spent a lot of time on my essays explaining myself and have a significant upward trend in my grades since attending CC. In my appeal I self-reported my spring grades and added two recommendations.
Tomorrow is already one week since they start admitting students from the waitlist, really hope we can find out tomorrow or Thursday
Honestly don’t give up yet. I know it sucks because it’s so late at this point that you have to plan for another school. I would just plan for somewhere else and check the portal once a day just in case. I had already committed and even paid a non-refundable deposit at another school by the time I heard back today.
they kind of have to release it within this week because of housing. so lets keep our hopes up!
I’d stop checking after 5 pm and just wait until the next day. I feel like for waitlist they manually input the admission status, so the status will change whenever they’re at work. But that’s just my personal guess. If UCSB did not admit me I’m going to UCR. Who’s with me?
@okcollege I’m in the same position, I did pretty bad my first year cuz of personal issues but I explained why in my appeal and also sent in my transcripts and 2 rec letters so I’m hoping for the best! I only applied to UCSB and TAGed there, I can just reapply next year though
Would appeal helping help the chances? I mean they didn’t say no just don’t have enough room?
