I would like to know if I got a good deal on my financial aid for Ucsb. I have already submitted my SIR but I am still not sure if I want to go there 100%. UCSB is giving me $26,646 in scholarships and grants. The total cost will be $36,846 and my net cost is $10,200. I made the calculations and I cut the net cost down to $7,000. I will be taking out loans to pay for this, my expected family contribution is $0. Would it be worth taking out loans for Ucsb and going into approx. $30,000 in debt? Is my financial package good? I hope someone can help me answer my questions.
You have a good package. A UC education is worth $30,000 debt for many career goals.
What is your major and career goal?
Are you working over the summer? You can probably lessen your loans if you do that
Where you offered a $5500 student loan? If so where would you borrow the rest? Better to work this summer and save
Is it a good deal compared to what? Do you have other offers that are better? That pay for everything?
