This is from Assist.org

"Beginning fall 2011 the UCSB Department of Economics will no longer offer
the Business Economics major. A new major, Economics and Accounting, will be
offered starting in fall 2009. Prospective transfer students who have been
preparing for the Business Economics major may continue their preparation if
they plan to begin attending UCSB in fall 2010. Students who plan to transfer to
UCSB in fall 2011 or later should consider preparing for one of the other
Economics majors. Students should start checking assist.org after August 1st for
the latest information on these changes to the Economics majors."

Do you guys think the new major "Economics and Accounting" will basically have the same exact pre-reqs as the former Business Econ with Accounting Emphasis major?

Why do you think they did this?

I really hope they still offer Business Calc as a pre-req 'cause I definitely don't want to jump through a bunch of hoops to take Calculus I and II to transfer. I'd much rather take Business Calc as it only requires Intermediate Algebra to enroll in at my CC.
