UCSB or APU?

I am considering the premed route and got accepted into both schools, UCSB for pre-bio and APU for nursing (though I will switch to premed if I go. Would it be worth going to APU for the (basically guaranteed) higher GPA? From what I know, I’m already in the top 5% of the school. Plus they have smaller classes, which might mean bettarer mentoring and standing out more. I’m not really religious but I feel like I can tolerate it.

But I think UCSB sounds more like the “college experience”, definiitely has a better social scene, etc. If I get a slightly lower GPA but at this more renowned school, would it be worth it?

I’m really torn between the two. I know the atmospheres are really different, but I feel like I can survive in either one. Please advise. Thanks!

Go where you’re most excited and will be happiest. I certainly wouldn’t say the higher GPA is guaranteed from one school over the other, so you might as well choose the school that’s the best overall fit. Good luck!

I do not think a higher gap is guaranteed at APU. If costs are similar go with the one you like more. You will have to do better at APU than at at UCSB if you want medicine
