UCSB Reception URGENT

Son’s just arrived in the mail today. In state, envelope dated Feb 22.

Ya~ I got the invitation today! SF bay area

Received this invitation and Regents scholarship in the mail today. Yay for $6000/year.

I’m a little worried/disappointed that I haven’t received any sort of letter yet, I thought my stats were decent enough to at least get invited to the reception.

My daughter received Invitation and $6,000/year Regents scholarship via snail mail today in San Diego. No email.

Got it today!!! SoCal

I’m confused. Does this mean I’m in? Online it says this invitation does not reflect admission status, and I wasn’t offered a scholarship.

^ yes, you’re in.

Went to the reception in LA at the Airport Marriot two years ago, and as others have said, during the reception they announced that the attendees have been admitted.

Think about it for a second… do you really think the University of California has spare money sitting around to throw a reception for applicants that won’t be admitted?

Yeah I guess that wouldn’t really make sense. I’m attending the LA one too. What did you guys do last year and did you end up at UCSB? My hopes are really up so I’ll be devastated if something goes wrong.

Is anyone going to the LA reception for UCSB and then over to Santa Monica for the Tulane reception?

i received a “meet your admissions counselor” email a few days ago but i have not received a letter, so I do not think that they are related. However, I did not really look at the email and I cannot seem to find it right now. In the LA area

^ Maybe you should register for an event I registered on the 18th for one and the date on my reception letter was the 22nd which I recieved on the 25th so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it.

Has anyone in the East Bay/CA received a Chancellor Reception invitation For UCSB other than those that received Regent Scholarships?

What kind of stats. do those of you have that got invited to the reception? Thanks!

gymnast17 I live in the North Bay and received the invitation to the chancellor’s reception today in the mail.

Hey guys, I got the letter today in the mail too. Basic stats are 3.8 W GPA, 3.4 UW, 35 ACT. I’ll be attending! I’m pretty excited to see what’s going to happen… despite all the talk, not sure if this means I’m accepted or not. Not gonna get my hopes up too high. Wishing for the best!

Received Regents Scholarship and invitation to reception honoring top applicants today in SF Bay Area.

I really hope that it means we got in, because I just told my parents…oh gosh

To those who received the reception invitation: Do UCSB counselors make a visit/give a presentation at your schools each year? Another question: Are you in the top 3% of your class? Also, does UCSB enroll a lot of freshmen from your school? (You can find that out on Freshman Pathways website.) I’m trying to see a pattern here.

I received an invitation, basic stats are 4.2 UC GPA and 2180 SAT score. I’m not in the top 10% of my school, but then again I go to a really competitive school and most of the people here who apply get accepted.
