I'm wondering if there is simply no point in me applying to UCSB. I want to transfer for Electrical Engeineering, but there are two courses which ASSIST.org has listed as "required," but there are no equivalent courses offered at my CCC: Computer Science 16 and Engineering 3, which seem like very basic programming classes. I have taken several programming classes. Next semester, I will be taking Object-Oriented Programming and Assembly Language courses. I don't know what to do. I suppose I ought to call their Engineering Dept. Do you guys have any ideas as to what they'd do?

I don’t think they hold you responsible for classes your school doesn’t offer.

b.u.m.p.

Applicants in Engineering, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, and Economics at UCSB are screened for at least partial completion of major-preparation coursework.

If you’d only be missing those two courses, I’m positive you will get in. You can just take them at UCSB.

I also agree with what altschool said up there.

Don’t fret. APPLY! :)

You’ll be fine. You’ll be placed in a pre-major status and will need to complete the courses at UCSB.

Glad to hear that. I applied to UCSB, UCLA, Cal, and Davis. Plus, Cal Poly SLO. Now, we play the waiting game…

I HATE THIS PART!!!
