I’ve been to SB many, many times and the campus is pretty average. The location is the only thing that makes SB so great.

Mr. Randall, you’ll get in everywhere you applied with that gpa man.

@mermaker, Really? It would really have to impress me to sway from SC. I know a lot of people who love it there, lots of attractive girls apparently and laid back feel. However, I think sb would have more of the preppy type kids and SC would have more of the laid back kids but thats just the vibe I get.

@ramsfan haha thanks for the confidence, I won’t get into Berkeley though as they won’t accept business calc instead of calc 1 and 2. I don’t know if I’d go to Berk anyways though.

TAG
3.25 GPA
Political Science

Thanks for the info, larinaga. Maybe you could help me here too. If my GPA is 3.6 and I have completed all of TAG’s College of Letters and Science requirements, am I admitted? Does it matter that I haven’t completed most of the major prep courses before Spring 2013?

You’re fine if you’re a TAG applicant and have pre-reqs in progress. You’ll be admitted, but be sure to finish those pre-reqs or they’ll rescind your acceptance.

Just two more weeks til admissions start guys!!

Yeah, @shmohawk let me know what results you get everyone! I wish you all the best of luck.

TAGGED
4.0 Sociology
All pre reqs will be done (1 more class that I am taking this spring)

Environmental Studies Major
3.83 UC GPA
After this semester I think I will need 3 pre reqs, but 2 after summer (I know they don’t count)
I did finish the IGETC.
I tagged, so I pray I will be alright. I think it was accepted but it depends on if they actually want to admit me into the school.
I really want UCD and UCSB.

Good luck. I can’t wait to see my fate.

I know I have no chance but here goes. Prior to last semester, I had a 3.16 transfer GPA. Now I have a 2.76. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and I thought she was going to die, thankfully her surgery was successful. That is what I was dealing with last semester. I have no excuse for bad grades, but those are the facts. If I get all A’s this semester, I will have a 3.37 GPA. My IGETC grades are all A’s and one C. The C was in English 1a but I got an A in English 1b. I have an upward trend in grades, other than last semester. I am a CCC student and my family has a low income. I am also a first generation college student along with my brother, who graduated from USC. The only Pre-req I have IP is Stats. I know I will be denied come March 19th. I want to know about my chances of appealing with my Spring grades and if any of you have heard of any similar stories to mine that have been successful (and what advice you guys have). Sorry about the essay but any help would be great, thanks and good luck to every single one of you!

@bleedblue Seems like you’re having a very rough situation. Have you written about it in your personal statement?

@Bleedblue91 You should definitely give the office of admissions a call upon receiving your decision. If your spring grades show improvement, perhaps you’ll be granted a waitlist spot for your communications major or something of the sort. Your situation is an excruciating circumstance IMO, but if your grades aren’t up to required standards, it’ll be hard to gain any leeway. Good luck with your admission to UCSB!

Anyone knows at what time the decisions will be out on 19th?

@zcarfaz 3:00 pm I believe.

3:00 PM. May the odds be ever in our favor!

Thanks!! yeah I hope we all will get in!!! good luck to everyone!!!

Hey i was just wondering… If we did the TAG, do we get our decisions earlier?

Unfortunately, not. It’s all random.

Agh! Darn. It’s going to drive us crazy!!! 3pm Tommorow…

Best of luck! Hopefully all of us College Confidential folk can meet up at UCSB. :)
