Ucsb -> ucla

Hola! I'm a first year, sophomore student at UCSB. I really like it here, but would like a UCLA diploma more. :) let me throw some numbers at you and see what you think.

-36 AP units (all 5s and 4s, if it matters)
-8 transfer units from UCI
-13+19+17 units for this year, total of 93 at the end of the year.

My current gpa is a 3.81. I want to apply for UCLA's poli sci program. So, a few questions:

1) I'm essentially done with UCSB's general education requirements, and UCSB's poli sci lower div requirements. I get reciprocity for that, right?
2) UCLA's page in their admissions site for poli sci is confusing. It says we need 3 lower div classes, then goes on to list 4 poli sci classes and a stats class. What's really going on here?
3) speaking of stats, UCSB won't let me take a stats class for credit since I passed my stats AP test. UCLA explicitly does not accept AP Stats Credit as sufficient for their stats requirement. What do I do, take stats for no units?
4) chance me. I know the limited number of UC intercampus transfera makes it difficult to judge, but give me your opinion.

take the quantitative method class

What is that? Is it a stats course at UCSB?

It’s pols 104

Sadly, they are cutting poli 104 for people of my entering class and replacing it with a new course, poli 15. 104 had a statistical background acceptable to UCLA? maybe 15 will too.

Anyway, does anyone know the policy of UC reciprocity? It’s the most important part to me.

UC reciprocity works for GEs but not necessarily major prereqs. For example, i went to UCSB my freshman year but when i transferred to Berkeley, they told me the calculus sequence at UCSB wasn’t equivalent to the sequence at Berkeley.

But as far as general education requirements are concerned, there’s reciprocity? So all I need to worry about is the major prereqs?

yes thats all you need to worry about basically.

What about my stats problem? Anyone know?

Half bump half new question, how do I schedule an appointment with a UCLA representative about transferring there?
