So, I've gotten into both of these schools (among others), I'm just having a hard time deciding between the two. Also, I put history as my major, but I'm more undecided about that than anything. I do know, however, that my major will not be related to science, I plan on eventually pursuing at least a Masters, and I kind of want to be a teacher. So far here are my pros/cons:
UCSB-
ON the beach (+)
UC prestige (+)
More expensive (-)
Party school (-)
Farther from home (+/-)
CSULB-
Near the beach (+)
Less expensive (+)
Potential friend going there (+)
Was it worth all the hard work- Ap classes, honors classes, etc? (-)
Less prestigious (-)
Closer to home (+/-)

You have done a nice job with your pros and cons. Something to consider is Long Beach offers teaching credentials. With your AP classes you should be able to get your credential in less than five years. Think about the honors program, I am not sure about Long Beach, but most will give you priority registration as a perk.

Santa Barbara is a great school and offers a great education, but they do not offer teaching credentials of you choose to go that route.

Good luck to you, let us know what you decide.
