Im interested in a Biology major and am thinking of applying to these 3 schools
I have a ~3.75 GPA and a 31 ACT.
I have a few questions about the Bio program:
1) Which one is the best in the Biology field?
2) How difficult is it to maintain a good GPA?
3) Ranking of the schools?

Any additional info is always appreciated :)
Thanks in advance :D

I don’t the answer to question #2.

For #1 and #3 my understanding is as follows:

UCSB

UCD

Cal Poly

i was under the impression Cal poly was the best and always thought Davis was better than SB. For biology i thought it would be the same…

Biology at Davis I believe is higher ranked then UCSB, and Cal poly focuses more on architecture.

For Biological Sciences (as a whole, there are a lot of specialities within this broad field),

UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara
Cal Poly SLO

Davis benefits from its leading position in veterinary science, and cell biology (agriculture), which shares a lot of preparatory work with general biology.

UCSB is great at marine biology, but not as much in general biology.

Cal Poly is really an engineering/architecture standout, along with Business, and the rest of the Arts and Sciences are not stellar.

Thanks for the help. I’m pretty set on Davis unless I get into UCSD or UCLA :D
