So I recently got accepted to these schools but am having troubling deciding on where to go. Does anyone have any input to which school is better engineering wise and overall school wise? Thank You!

weren’t you supposed to SIR to either 4 days ago? :o.

I got in to both schools by waitlist so i have time to decide still

Which type of engineering are you in? I know our physics department is a powerhouse and is ranked only behind Cal in the UC system and top ten overall in the nation, and physics is a huge part of the eng curriculum. Pretty sure we’re both relatively ranked the same unless you’re looking at chemE(ucsb+) or bioE(davis)

http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-physics-schools/rankings
2010 physics, don’t think there is even an undergrad ranking.

O I seeee. Yeah im thinking of mechanical engineering… Some people say ucsb is better and some say davis is. i guess its cause they are pretty close academically in this subject but yeah its making it a harder decision…

I’d say sb is better than davis in that field…and if they are really close, then just pick the school that you like best

i’m also in your situation except i’ve already sent in my SIR to davis because i got accepted there already and i just found out about sb today!
i went to santa barbara and the tour guide pretty much said most of the money is poured into the engineering wing of the school, so im guessing its pretty good?
i liked both campus, so its a tough one for me >_< leaning a little towards sb tho lol

o haha cool. yeah im pretty much going to sb now as the sir deadline for davis just passed.

@UCQuestions, since you already SIR’d to uc davis, are u just going to go there for engineering? or are u going to withdraw from uc davis and go to ucsb?
