UCSB WAITLIST (CLASS OF 2022)

i spoke to an admissions rep yesterday at ucsb. 5000 were offered waitlist.

Where did you get these stats? Just curious. Princeton Review’s stats show in 2017 6650 were offered a waitlist spot, 4000 accepted the waitlist spot, 960 were accepted off the waitlist (roughly 25%). ??

@lunar2015 are you deciding to go to Spring Insight?

@sdnfjlj87909 where did you get those stats? surely that’s not for this year right? because waitlist offers are determined after may 1

@prideful I spoke with an admissions officer like 3 days ago while visiting UCSB

@sdnfjlj87909 oh got it! i misread your post, i thought you meant 5000 were taken off the waitlist. thanks for the info!

@university2go - No,because we are out of town then.

Where’d you get these stats? Just curious

Did anyone send in an appeal?

@yehsm826 Me :slight_smile:

how do i know if they got my appeal? i mailed it from socal on wednesday and nothing is on my portal yet

It will show on your portal. Takes about a week to process. Will say “Appeal Received - Decision Pending” - were you originally waitlisted?

I called the admissions office today and one of the reps told me that about 8000 people were offered a spot on the waitlist, but my friend was told 5000 were. Which is correct?

@sarwhal: Maybe 8000 students were waitlisted and only 5000 opt in for the waitlist?

@Gumbymom that’s not it because yesterday was the last day to opt in to the waitlist and the rep said they didn’t have the numbers yet for that. Also my friend had asked prior to april 15 (the waitlist deadline).

Can someone else call to ask about the number please?

Someone in this thread asked an admission rep and they said 5000 were offered a spot on the waitlist.

Anyone know how many were offered waitlist in the past few years? Also, is the waitlist pool different than the reject pool? I believe I read that the appeal team that reviews are different for each category. … Have no idea.

Two years ago they only accepted ~300 off the waitlist while last year they accepted ~1,300 so it varies from year to year

Anyone know any friends that got into UCSB that are declining their admission offer?
