Congratulations! What is her major? Is she accepting the spot?
I did not appeal earlier, but I got an email sent to me today that I was accepted off of the waitlist for the proposed major of Neuroscience. Not sure what to do now…I’ve committed to an OOS school already and found a roommate and friends too…
Marine Biology - not sure yet if she is going to accept it. She appealed and was denied so she committed to WWU and found a roommate. It makes the decision harder now!
yes, once you commit somewhere, you start putting your energy into that school and we’ve already paid the enrollment deposit, a housing deposit, have a roommate and even orientation date. But still waiting to see if we get in this week! Just tell us either way. Puhlease…
S was accepted off the waitlist, but only for Computer Engineering. Not sure why–was there a spot on the application for second choice major? He applied for Mechanical Engineering. In any case, he already accepted UCI’s offer in Mechanical.
D was accepted off the wait list on Friday evening around 6pm. Global Economics, first choice. We thought she was a great candidate for initial acceptance, and were surprised at the wait list offer in March. Instead, she accepted at Cal Poly SLO. We are over the moon with the campus, staff, program, price and transfer credits!
After she got the email on Friday, it took about a half a second for her to decide to still go to SLO. But it’s interesting to look at how it all played out. UCSC was in the running for her top choice before acceptances came in. As May 1 approached, it was SDSU (Honors), Purdue (Honors), UCR (Honors) and SLO. But, after visiting each campus, SLO won out by a mile - and now she refuses to take off her Mustang sweatshirt! If UCSC had accepted her in regular cycle - I could see it all playing out very differently.

Hope this helps some people wondering about their chances:
I met my admissions rep and told him how much I want to be at the school, wrote letters to the head of undergrad admissions and my admissions rep about why I deserve to be at UCSC, got a vague response from the rep, and no response from the head of undergrad (unsurprisingly), got rejected and put on the waitlist, wrote an appeal, got rejected again, then on friday May 10th at 6PM I finally got off the waitlist for my proposed major, Undeclared physical sciences and math.
GPA: 3.55
SAT:1220
@felina -Congrats to you. II wrote an email to my admissions rep and it bounced back, wrote another to the main admissions email, and it also bounced back. My mom called and left a message with the rep. No answer. Still waiting… not sure what else I can do. I did’t appeal because I was discouraged to do so by my college counselor. Told me it was a waste of time and to just wait it out. At this point, I think a lot of people that are offered spots are already excited about their other choices are are turning down offers. I wish they would move on to people that really WANT to be at UCSC.
Yes! Hopefully they move onto the people that actually want to go to UCSC soon, its my dream school and I am so anxious to hear back. I tried contacting a few admissions reps but for all of them I got an automatic email sent back that they would not be answering questions until sometime in July, I’m guessing they are on a break. Also how where you able to find the email for the main admissions office? The email on the UC Santa Cruz website emailed me back and said it was no longe in use.

I got off the waitlist May 10th. I probably will not go though. I will go to UC Irvine or UC Davis if I get off their waitlist. I have already been accepted off of UCSD’s waitlist. I’m still waiting on UC Davis and Cal Poly SLO.
Expecting a rejection from Cal Poly SLO waitlist tomorrow. After that, I’ll probably send an LOCI and invitation to meet to my regional admissions counselor. I asked on UCSC Admission’s IG when they were going to start letting people off of the waitlist in June…which is clearly BS.
Does anyone know when they will start letting the next round of people off the waitlist?
Wait - they said they’re telling people about the waitlist in June? That’s not true. I just wish they would give people some indication where they are so they can get excited or move on.
Did you receive an email with your acceptance? Or did you have to check ur portal?

Do u think they will let more people off May 18th because they started letting people off May 10th and they only have a week to accept it? Idk

I don’t think UCSC takes letters of continued interest. On their website it says that there is nothing you can do to change your spot on the waitlist. I wish they did though I was thinking of doing the same thing
