I really want to attend UCSC, however I don't know if I have enough money to do that. My parents say they can pay max $30,000 per year for my education, but UCSC website says that estimated cost for out of state studets is $57,000 (I won Regents scholarship so the price will be $53k) My question is is it possible to attend UC with my budget? And maybe not all expenses are necessary? Also, is it possible to get some part-time job in Santa Cruz when I'll be studying?

I would wait and see what the FA offer is, as there may be more aid then you realize. As an OOS student, there generally isn’t a lot of aid, but there is a Dean’s award for OOS I believe, so if you got that, it might make the difference. If they don’t post the FA info soon, I would call the FA office

Hey there, i’m almost in the exact same boat as you :P

I do know we can get/apply for the “Deans undergrad award”( I think it’s called that) which covers 20k split over 4 years…you’ll probably find more information on that if you do a quick Google search.

I’m still waiting for the FA info before I make my decision i’d advise you do the same.
