<p>In a survey of 60 elite universities, UC Santa Cruz ranked 15th for the percentage of its students whose bachelor's degree led to doctorates. In the UC system, only Berkeley (14th) finished higher.</p>
<p>U.S. News & World Report's rankings for 2006 place UCSC in the top 20 percent of national public universities.</p>
<p>Faculty Excellence</p>
<p>Faculty who have been attracted to Santa Cruz include two of the University of California's honored University Professors, 21 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, 10 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and two members of the Institute of Medicine.
