bumppppppppp

Just so people know… appeals CAN work. I got into UCSD through an appeal =)

I second the comment from the last poster, I just got accepted through an appeal from UCSD today.

UCSD must have ridiculously overestimated how many students would SIR.

My appeal was approved because of special circumstances, which were overlooked during the initial review. Overall my application was very strong, but I was told by admissions the GPA cutoff for SD skyrocketed to 3.8 because they underestimated the number of TAG students. Fortunately the information I provided in the appeal was compelling enough to overturn the initial decision.

@MLSman wow you got accepted TWO days ago? that’s kinda late even for an appeal O___O

Yeah I did, but it was right on point with the approximate three weeks waiting time they stated. I didn’t receive the initial rejection until April 29th, submitted my appeal the following Monday, May 1st, and then got the acceptance email Tuesday afternoon. For some reason three of the four schools I applied to posted admission decisions for me in the last batch, and I am still waiting on one. Again, my applications are nontraditional, which must have added time to the review process.

@MLSMAN
oh are you perhaps a transfer student? Because the freshmen applicants appeals were due april 15th. I guess this makes sense if you are a transfer student.

Yes, I am a transfer.

your wasting time
besides your gpa is low and you will struggle
go to a college you are more fit
you will end up getting Cs and failing classes
although I love people that bring the curve down for us

jyledh considering you know nothing of me or of my situation, aside from the few details I previously gave, you are talking out of your ass. The GPA cutoff rose to 3.8 because of an inordinate amount of students who completed TAG and received priority admission. Your lack of basic punctuation and syntax, coupled with your abrasive comment represent you as some slack-jawed keyboard jockey trying to be an online badass, but really suggest you are a pockmarked loser trying to bring others down to your level of worthlessness. If you would like the next time I am in San Diego I will be glad to meet with you to shove a little common courtesy down your throat, as I was only trying to offer advice to anyone in a similar situation.

I will make sure to PM this to you in the case you are the type to post incendiary comments just for the hell of it.
