UCSD Appeal!

@The Legend:

is this the only school you’re appealing to, or UCD also?

^No, I got into Davis. SD is the only school I appealed to. I would be fine and happy with Davis. It took me a month to pick it above the rest and I liked what I found. Just wish this came fast.

Well guys… my appeal was rejected. SD was my #1 choice. I feel very fortunate to have got into the schools I did get into. From all of those, I have now made a final decision on attending UC Davis, after I visited and looked into their programs I liked it very much.

Maybe SD might be in my future? Grad School? Or maybe I was meant to go to Davis. Either way, I am not down about this and I am glad that I can SIR to Davis with the peace of knowing I will actually be there. All the depression I experienced on the day of the SD rejection has thoroughly evaporated and I am ready to move on with my life.

;)

D: OMG legend I’m sorry :(. UCD is good too :), and now you won’t regret not even trying to appeal to SD :).

The Legend
My appeal was rejected to… :[
It’s good that you got over it, I’m not. I feel as ****ty as when i got rejected the first time haha
I’ll be seeing you at UCD I guess

^Have you visited Davis?

Also, did any one get in?

Sorry to hear about the rejections guys. There’s always grad school (or if you feel you still want UCSD you can transfer after 1 year at another UC… with good grades of course).

Best of luck with your academic careers.

legend : i havent visited davis yet, but from what ive heard theres not much to do there :</p>

@ schw1ng - yeah, i have quite a few AP credits so im planning on transferring out of UCD to UCSD after my first year… unless, i end up liking the place

still cant get over the rejection though… fuuuuccc.kkkkk!!!
davis is 6 hours away, none of my friends are going there
sd is 2 hours away, and i know a ****ton of people going tehre

@ ash: Definitely, but I hear transferring from UC to UC can be difficult, especially for first years because they still look at high school grades.

I don’t want to think about transferring without even giving Davis a chance lol. But, I will consider transferring to the top 3, if I have the grades and I don’t like it.

I “heard” there was nothing to do there as well. Well, they were wrong. You will understand when you visit. I don’t think you should pre-judge.

I am like 1.5 hours (maybe an Hour if you drive really fast) from Davis.

Also, there is an easy way to see if you got into the right college. Of course, this depends on major. But, some one who goes to SD could fail out and just hate it there. While some one who goes to SC can get very good grades and later transfer up.

My appeal was rejected too =((

You can’t go too far wrong with any of the top UC’s including SD and Davis. I am at SD because Davis is too CLOSE to home and I wanted more adventure but Davis is a great school and it is definitely not true that there is “nothing to do there”. Enjoy your college experience wherever you go. They are all slightly different but all “best” in their own ways.

@map: Really? That’s a bummer. I’m sure with stellar grades it could be possible.

Anyways good luck people.

We got a letter (snail mail) saying that no decisions will take place on appeals until week of 4/26 - how did you get your rejection notice - snail mail, email ?

@bnelson-yeah i got my rejection notice by snail mail. it said " i regret to inform you that after completion of our review, we are unable to approve your appeal" :frowning: the letter also included how many points i was away from the comprehensive review score…

I’m appealing as a transfers. I was informed by the student transfer councilor that I had completed the requirements for the TAG agreement, but this was after I submitted my application. I didn’t want to put false information on my app, so the TAG box was never checked. I was told to call the school as soon as possible, but when I did talk to the UCSD admissions they told me I would be considered with the normal transfers and there was no way to go back and get the box checked. This is essentially what my appeal says, but have any of you guys heard of anyone else getting sort of screwed by this? if so did they get a a successful appeal?
