<p>So I emailed UCSD about changing my 1st choice major about 2-3 weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. </p>

<p>Does anybody know if this is the correct email that such a request should be sent to?</p>
<p>I have TAG and applied as a Bio major for my primary and alternate. I requested a change of primary major to Comp.Sci. (not impacted). I really want my acceptance letter to indicate that I got in for Comp. Sci. so I don't have to go through more hoops. </p>
<p>I am also worried that if they did not receive my change of major request and I get denied from my primary and alternate bio majors then I wont get accepted to the school. </p>
<p>Is it true that if you get denied from your first and second choice major that you will still be accepted as undeclared as long as you have TAG?</p>
<p>i’m in the same boat. my GPA is low enough that i know i wont get into my first major which is Bio. But my alt. major is psych (non-impacted) will the TAG still count towards my alt.major?</p>

<p>^ you shouldn’t be. I sent in my request to change major on March 31st last year and they switched no problem.</p>
<p>I received an automated reply from UCSD. They process major change requests to non-impacted majors through June 1 for transfer students. Sweet deal.</p>

<p>I think your best bet would be finding someone on here who was accepted to the college you want to get into who also wants to go to the college you were accepted to.</p>

<p>seeing as i can switch my major choices by shooting an email i can’t seem to find another major that fits my classes specifically to the math courses i have. at CC i took the 10 series the math 121, 122 instead of 20 series the math 141, 150 151 so what the **** do i do -______-

<p>@raacheeel: You won’t get it but I think you should try Cognitive Science with an emphasis on the Neuroscience if you’re interested in neuroscience things. It’s NOT impacted 
or the chem/biochem is pretty good from what I hear unless you really hate chem.</p>
<p>i would switch to biochem/chem but the problem is the lower division requirements… when i took my classes for biochem/ cell bio i took the math classes specifically for that major and its different from chem/biochem…&i don’t hate chem, it’s just annoying to me but i can get through it.</p>
<p>i emailed the email provided above and said i wanted to switch psych because that’s what fit my classes i have done the most but i guess i could change it to chem/biochem if admitted.</p>
<p>just to clarify, if i sent this email today and they get it this week, will they look at my app with the psych major or the biochem major. & are they still reviewing applications? or is everything all reviewed and they’re just releasing in batches. i just feel like if people were able to do the major change while reviewing apps that would be a hassel O_O</p>

<p>I need to change my major too, but I know better to request a change AFTER I get accepted.</p>
<p>It shouldn’t really matters what requirements you have done. I heard it’s as simple as logging on to your Tritonlink and clicking 2 buttons to switch your major. All of this only matters if the program is impacted so if you don’t get it, you can still do something else and they won’t bar you from it!</p>

<p>Visual Media (film) is not impacted, I believe. I’m planning to change it to linguistics, which is also not impacted.</p>
<p>@walleats i think that’s only if you’re admitted. i just checked and i didnt see anything about major changes…and yess my major is impacted :(</p>
<p>I thought you were already admitted. It’s probably better to change once you get in unless you’re sure you don’t want to do any other major. Even then, it’s probably best to switch once you get in because you can probably still get into those majors while you’re there if you get all A’s in the rest of the prereq classes.</p>

<p>who is saying that they are taking only the top 200 students for bio? LEts hope its jsut rumors… I thought that biology was going to be impacted after this years cycle of admissions.</p>

Transfer Students
For admission purposes, this cohort will not be affected until fall 2011. Until then, transfer students will be admitted to any biology major without restriction. In fall 2011, the target number of new transfers will be 200. The UCSD Admissions Office will rank, according to transfer GPA, all students that applied. Admissions is solely responsible for admitting transfer students and for assuring that a target of no more than 200 new transfers will enroll as Biology majors.</p>
<p>The DBS expects transfer students to have completed all lower division course work for the requested biology major at the time of transfer.</p>
