UCSD Desicion Advice

@DoctorP I am an Indian student. I have read most of your advices you provided other students and was impressed and its great to see you helping out.
I am hoping you can help me out here.
I have gotten admitted into UCSD for an undeclared major although i applied for mechanical.
I have also gotten admitted to Irvine directly into mechanical.
I want to know my chances of transferring into mechanical in UCSD.
I also want to know which college would be more logical for me to join as I can not comprimise on my major
thanks

@underthesun1234 hey mate, happy to help. No one knows exactly how hard it is to transfer into impacted majors, but MAE will definitely take a >3.4-3.5 gpa in the screening courses. That’s not as easy as it sounds. If you’re dead set on mechanical, Irvine is the safer bet.

Thank You so much man! @DoctorP
I had one more question, how hard is it to enroll into classes and courses required for Mechanical being undeclared ?

@underthesun1234 I’ve never had an issue taking an MAE class as a non-MAE major; in fact, I’ve found the four I took easier to enroll in than many alternatives

Go to Irvine. You are in the major there. No guarantee you will be able to transfer in at UCSD, it’s competitive.

@DoctorP thanks dude!
@rocket88 thanks for the input.
