UCSD: Earl Warren or John Muir?

In your opinion, which UCSD college is better: Earl Warren or John Muir?

I'm a bioengineering major and I was wondering which college would be better for it? (I'm not sure I want to stay in bioengineering though). Also, is it more difficult to fill the GEs in Muir if we attend as an engineering major?

Additionally, I would like to know about the social lives/activities and the people in each of the colleges because I've been hearing things about Warren being the most "boring" college.

So what's your take on the two colleges?

For engineering, warren is the better choice, though muir has the least GEs.

People from both are pretty fun, but Muir is still more social IMO.

The amount of GEs you have to take as an engineering major < amount of GEs you take as a non-engineering major.

If I did engineering (I'm doing science, so I went for Marshall), I would put Warren as top choice without question.

Hey.. don't we go to the same school?

I applied and got into Muir as my first choice, because its the most social out of the UCSociallyDead schools, so go figure

oooh thanks, but I called the admissions people today, and they said that they don't allow changes until the spring quarter. But I heard that some people have done it before then. Is it possible?

Oh and, Rman3008,

"The amount of GEs you have to take as an engineering major < amount of GEs you take as a non-engineering major."

Do you mean only in Warren college? Haha, sorry, reading their chart of GE confuses me.

Yes Sophia, in Warren, you have to take much fewer GEs as an Engineering major than you would as a non-engineering major(this is the case ONLY in Warren), hence the appeal to engineering (most people call Warren the school of engineers, but people there are still pretty social.)

Muir still has the least GEs I think and is very social, but I thought it might be too social, plus I just didn't want to go to the most social/party house because I'd rather have a balance.

But gap is right, UCSD is kind of socially dead, so by no means is Muir a bad option.

Good luck with your choice Sophia.
