UCSD Economics

I was accepted under Economics at UCSD recently and am currently deciding between UCSD and UCI's Business Information Management major. Which would be better for Big4 recruitment? I'm also worried about the Economics aspect because math is definitely not my best subject and I hear it has a LOT of difficult math?

Any comments or suggestions would help greatly!! Thanks!

The Big4 recruitment is not terribly different at either school. You have to be on top of your game to get an interview at both places. If you are shy of math, you should definitely reconsider your reasoning for going to a Big4 firm. The Econ major is relatively qualitative here. By this I mean that you can take other Economics majors that are far more quantitative in nature. The economics major requires you to take up to multivariable calculus.

That being said, Econ here, at least in graduate rankings, is highly rated, and the courses here tend to be more quantitative in nature than other schools that grant econ degrees.

If you want to get into a big4 or finance out of any UC, you must land internships throughout your undergrad career and maintain a high GPA. This cannot be emphasized enough. Having one or the other won’t cut it.
