@PantherDuck I applied for cognitive science as well! I have a similar GPA also.
does anyone have an idea when were supposed to hear next? i highly doubt that the first batch was only one day, a lot more people would’ve been accepted. this makes me think that the first batch definitely does span over a course of a few days
I just looked through last years thread and it seems that all the acceptances were over two days (though it’s hard to tell if it was actually over one day and people just didn’t check until the next day). Also last year first batch was 3-13 and the next one was 4-17
so would we hear back today then? or monday, if they don’t update us on the weekends?
I read the last year’s thread as well. I felt like most people just did not check their portal at the first day. I agree the next batch is probably in the mid-April. I really really hope they will release more decisions in March…
@elCreido good luck, mate! May the non-impacted-major-Gods be with you.
@patriot85 I was accepted and I’m part of the ulink program.
Yeah I think it’s more likely people didn’t check the first day (especially considering many people got emails the day after they were accepted) I think we are in for a 4 week wait now!
@goodkidmaadcity If you don’t mind, what is your major, gpa, and when did you find out of your acceptance? Thanks.
@patriot85 here are my stats:
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.3
Major GPA: approximately 3.7
I found out yesterday around 3pm!
I’m so nervous so that I am dying right now
I was accepted today at 11:30
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.95
Accepted!
Found out at 11:30am today while randomly searching through my “Promotions” folder in Gmail
GPA: 4.0
Major: Political Science
College: Warren
Only thing that is a bummer is that the school wont give me any financial aid. I was hoping for Regents Scholarship because of my GPA, but there is no notification that I got it. Does anyone know if they announce that later? Has anyone been accepted so far who has got it?
highly highly doubt that this is the end of the first batch. i feel like the first batch would span a few days…
The first batch is not usually dragged out for that long; however, the first batch of previous years was also fairly random aside from having solid GPAs. Yet nearly all of the acceptances this time around have been in the same two or three majors, regardless of GPA. It is definitely odd, but I would not be too hopeful about getting a response in the next few days. It will be better for the nerves to just assume that we’ll be waiting around for another three weeks and continue going about life until then.
And someone asked about the housing emails yesterday: I’ve had an email all this week. I did not receive my decision. So, unless the reps are twisted people who accepted me but decided not to inform me during the first wave, it is safe to say that the housing email is completely unrelated to the housing trick. You should not worry if you do not have one.
@TheVisionary What were the three majors that were accepted? I see political science. Do you know what the other one(s) is/are?
I got my acceptance last night into public health
@aepaige Honestly, I was too lazy to check through the pages again. I thought that there were one or two psychology/sociology majors, but I could be completely wrong. Of course, it could be that there are just a ton of social science majors on this forum so again I choose to have absolutely no faith that my decision will arrive soon. I did not expect UCSD to send me my first decision anyway. Five days until UCSC! Hopefully, they don’t play games with my emotions!
Yesterday was such a let down. I don’t understand why they can’t just provide a specific date like the other campuses, that way I could just forget about it until then and move on with my life.
As if I have nothing better to do than to log into the UCSD portal every day between now and April 30.
Have any engineering majors heard? seems like they havent
