UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

@donuts95 Okay just making sure I’m not the only one! Did you sign the contract before the U-link gpa went up to a 3.5 gpa?

@Solstice1 I got my admission during the first batch & I signed the ulink contract in 2012/2013 before the gpa went up to 3.5!

@goodkidmadcity Dang so did I. I applied last year with U-link to UCSD but because I had to drop a class, I didn’t satisfy the contract so I didn’t get accepted. I talked to my counselor and he said I would still be good for this year since I have the contract until fall 2016. I hope me applying last year doesn’t affect my decision…

@Solstice1 Nope, I signed the contract after the GPA went to 3.5. Did you finish all the major prep classes on assist?

@donuts95 Yeah I did the major prep already, but for U-link, you don’t necessarily need to finish all those courses because my friends that already transferred to ucsd didn’t have most of them finished. It’s at least if you have those basic math, English, and x amount of units completed plus the required gpa. But of course it would help to have the major prep done before transferring.

So, any chance another batch goes out today?

@boyofrito

There’s always a chance but from previous year’s threads we’re probably not seeing anything until early to mid-April. I wouldn’t fret over it.

Would you guys mind chancing me?

Major: Math (Probability and Stats)
GPA: 3.8
IGETC: Completed by spring
Pre-req: For UCSD, all but one (took C++ course in place of Java)
TAG: TAP for UCLA, TAG for Davis
Personal Statements: Fairly good, 8-9/10
Applied: UCLA, Cal, UCSD, UCSB, Davis, Cal Poly SLO
Admitted: Cal Poly SLO

@boyofrito I’d say you have a really high chance of getting accepted to most if not all of the schools that you applied to.

Thanks!

Could you guys chance me? I’m worried cause I’m missing two calculus classes
Major: Econ
GPA: 3.8 when applied 3.7 after adding in fall 2015 grades
IGETC: In progress but will be done by spring
TAG: UC Davis
Accepted: UCSC
Waiting: UCD, UCSD, UCSB

@dolpy1blue I’m not sure about all schools listed, but from what I’ve been hearing about UCSD, they aren’t as strict as other schools (namely Cal and UCLA) on prerequisites. I think your chances are pretty good despite the missing requirements.
May I ask if you took Calculus one previous to this semester or this Spring, because they would likely use that course as a test of your mathematical abilities.

@Solstice1 Ok cool! Cause the only class I haven’t done is Ochem and I was worried I wouddn’t qualify for ulink anymore because of that.

@lostinthought6 I’m taking my Calc 1 course this semester. I took a previous Stats class (A) that is not part of the prerequisites for econ and a Trig class (B) that was a prerequisite to take the Calc 1 class. Do you know when acceptances are most likely to come out? Batches or rolling basis?

What do you think my chances are?
Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.78 when applied 3.81 after fall semester
IGETC: Completed by last fall.
TAG: UCI
Accepted: CSULB
Waiting: UCB(Nuclear Engineering), UCSD, UCSB, Cal Poly Pomona
Denied: SLO, SDSU
I’m worried because I applied as a mechanical engineering major. I was denied from SLO and SDSU because they are so impacted and its also impacted at UCSD.

@donuts95 Oh no, I even talked to a ucsd counselor and she recommended to do the Ochem series when you start ucsd. If we take it at CC that’s fine but it won’t be counted as upper division credit at ucsd so she said we might as well take it when we transfer there!

I heard that the next batch doesn’t start until April first

@NotLikeThis where did you hear that from? an actual date would really save us a ton of anxiety lol

Hey guys it says System unavailable when i try to login to the myapplication page. Any ideas as to when results are coming out? Anyone else receive any decisions yet?
Please and Thank You
BTW:
Does UCSD release decisions on weekends?
