UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

@infinitize I’ll defer you to @lindyk8 - they can give you that information more accurately than I would be able to

@infinitize I think I answered this on your other thread. Since the rules are they add both lower and upper division UC courses to reach your unit total, and since all UC courses are transferable to all the UCs, I will say the info you have is wrong. Both will be added.

Just remember, the 70 semester unit transfer max rule for lower division does not apply to UC-UC transfers. In other words, a CCC applicant with 110 LD semester units from both a CCC and a CSU will cap at 70 transferable. If there are also 10 UD from the CSU, that totals 80.

A UC-UC applicant with 80 LD and 15 UD will have 95 units.

Re an actual limit of 70 semester/105 quarter units for lower division at a UC, that I don’t know. The rules talk about adding both LD and UD to the max, so I don’t think so. But check.

On the UCLA transfer stats page it notes that the average units completed from accepted applicants from another UC was 117 quarter units.

I didn’t want to make a whole thread about this since it is ultimately a minor detail, but should we mark the transferable English composition section as “Planned” or “In Progress” if we have completed one course and have the second planned for the Spring?

You would think that there would be a way to categorize the courses separately, but it only allows you to check one response for the entirety of the requirement.

I’m not recalling where that is but if it’s just a separate question asking about the UC English requirement, I believe they are simply asking will it be done.

You do list them all individually when you list courses by term.

@lindyk8 Can you please help me out with my question?

I’m at a CCC, I will have over 135 units by the end of spring quarter, but all of my units are from CCC. Will I be rejected because I exceed the maximum unit cap?

I am confused because some told me I will, and some told me as long as it’s from CC, then it’s fine. I seriously don’t know who to believe.

@cyan96, No, you’re fine as they are all from a CCC. 105 quarter units will transfer with the remaining providing subject credit, as applicable. Don’t stress.

@lindyk8 Thank you for your reply!

I thought the unit cap was 80 units whhaaaa

@CalRadical UCSD doesn’t factor your high school grades or test scores into their decision so I would assume that it’s just to verify the school(s) you attended.

Chance me?
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.2-3.3
UniversityLink candidate
Worked two jobs while in college
Cross enrolled at UCSD this quarter and cross enrolling next quarter

Chance me please?

Major: Physics
TAG: UCSB
IGETC: Done by Spring
Pre Requisites: done by Fall
Extra Activities: Math Tutor
GPA: 3.43
Applying to: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB

My gpa last summer was 3.72, and my GPA for fall will probably be 3.71. I’ve taken 25 semester units every semester, so I’ve also finished the general chem series, computer science series, math, and physics along with the IGETC in 2 years. My personal statement is an 8/10 ish?

Got an email from UCSD saying that they received my application.

Hubby got that email today too :-bd Can hardly wait the 3.5 months until decisions…

I still haven’t gotten my email :’( how many people haven’t yet!?!?

@sugarbabies3 I have nightmares about finding out.

@Molisha I feel you. I’ve been trying to keep busy to keep the decisions away from my mind. But it’s so hard! And I end up back on here lol

Hi everyone, I would like to know when does UCSD normally release their transfer decisions?

@Yuanqii they release decisions in three batches. One mid to end of May (15-20th), one beginning April (around the 7th), and another around the 17th-20th of April. I may be a little off with the dates, but not too off. Also from what I found in old threads, most prospective engineering students don’t hear back in the first batch, for anyone curious about that.

Oops, I meant 1st batch mid-end March. Not May…
