UCSD Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

Yes. I just didn’t get into the ones I investigated. Is there a way to change colleges?

Comments: I had all my B’s in one semester which was a bad one for me. My B’s were in Calc 1, Gen Chem 1, and Intro to C++, but other than that I have A’s in all my GE’s and major reqs. I just wanted your opinions on my application and how I’m going to fare with the UC’s. I heard of people getting acceptances to UCSD as early as two weeks ago (the person was a sociology major), so I was curious to whether or not anyone in a STEM major got in. Did anyone from the school of engineering get accepted yet? I just wanted to know your thoughts on acceptances for STEM majors so far.

I’ve heard the same thing! I’ve read about that a lot online from other transfers. Maybe I went on a bad day, but I wasn’t a big fan of the campus when I went. UCSD definitely isn’t my top choice, but it’d still be great to not be ‘pending’. @serendipity2395

@jloomagoo UCSD is transfer friendly or Berkeley?

@serendipity2395 not a transfer but the village (transfer student housing) is easily the most social part of campus

I propose we all just post nonsense until decisions come out lol like random stuff to get to know each other

You guys! I got in to SDSU last Friday and i was so happy! I feel like i would get into UCSD as well. Help me make a decision. Which one is going to be a good fit for a chem/biochem major.

Thank you and good luck to everyone.

As a current UCSD student, I can inform everyone that Sixth college will by far the easiest college for transfer students! Here are the ranking from easiest to hardest for transfer students: Sixth, Marshall, Muir, Warren, Revelle, Rosevelt

@HopeOverFear I have been assigned to 6th College. How is the practicum requirement?

.

Sup guys! Hope we get the decisions out soon.

Major: Mathematics for teaching/secondary education thingy
GPA: 3.71
Pre-reqs: i think i’m done with everything except few physics
ECs: not much
TAG: UCI
Accepted: UCI, UCSB
Pending: UCSD, UCD, UCLA, UCB
Rejected: got waitlisted for cal poly slo :frowning:

Remember when some decisions came out March 10th and 6 more weeks seemed so long? Now we are almost halfway there!!! Three weeks from this Friday

@HopeOverFear Oh man, I chose ERC as my first choice and 6th as my second. Why would you say it’s easier for transfers?

@bigvoot I’ve heard that schools will waitlist you if your stats are too high and they think you won’t attend. They see all of the schools that you apply to. That happened with my friend who now goes to UCLA and was waitlist to Cal Poly. Stay positive and hope for the best, it’s not over yet!

@blackonyx haha right! I’m still just as anxious and annoyed though :))

Hey everyone! To those who haven’t been accepted yet:
Are you guys able to go to housing > off campus housing>log in
and once logging in can you guys see your own personalized ucsd email?
I can see mine and make an account and everything, idk if everyone else can too

Haven’t tried that. Were you accepted already? @hellosir

@doihaveashot2016 Nope, I wasn’t and my hopes are pretty low, but I ask because I found a 2015 thread that talked about how if you’re able to make an off-campus housing account then that means you got accepted. I’ve only found one thread that talked about it, so I’m not sure if it’s legitimate. I’m asking my friends if they can access it, too.
