I was curious what classes engineering people got B’s and C’s on. I had one B from non-science course, and the rest of the B’s came from math, physics and chemistry. Only C that I have is from Physics 2.
Another question. My school (Southwestern College) is famous(or perhaps infamous?) for having rigorous math and science courses. It seems as though UCSD faculty members recognize it too. Does the admission care about the reputation of the school and it’s rigor when it comes to deciding who gets in or not? From what I hear, Chem program from other CC in SD is much easier.
Any thought will be appreciated.
The trick worked for me last year, but I was accepted as undeclared, so I wouldn’t count on it.
Are the decisions still rolling or they are done for the day? Seems like last year they were rolling all night long…
@jailalter @Onodera Yeah same here. It seems like it would be weird they would make an email for us if we weren’t in. But also it seems weird that they wouldn’t tell us today if it meant we were in. Kinda hoping someone that found out today is able to double check it. Wouldn’t get our hopes up about it just because if this though. Also if everyone is seeing it then that means it has to be wrong. I just know that it worked when I applied as a freshmen a few years ago.
@lenocturne I’m pretty sure they’re done for today. I think someone said they got in around 4:30 and that’s the last one I’ve heard.

@BoredEngineer Muir has the easiest requirements for graduation. I took a class at UCSD extension and it was on a small campus next to Muir’s campus- it’s a nice area, really quiet (if that kind of thing appeals to you). I don’t know if you’re going to dorm or not (I’m from the area so I’m not dorming), but the dorms look really nice too.
La Jolla in general is a really nice area, but the stereotype that it’s boring is kind of true. You really need to venture out and find things to do.
@Princetonian9 Yeah that’s what we’re taking about. I know it says it’s off-campus partners but it’s still through ucsd I think.

@alliot I understand what you’re saying. My cc has crazy physics program, hearing it is as hard as the one in Cal. I got a B in Physics 1 and a C in physics 2. My professors keep saying I’m a good student among others, but I talked to the counselor from UCSD last semester, who said they don’t really care how hard your school’s program is but only the student’s GPA. So I was like “hmmmm I must be screwed”.
But you know what, I got accepted to UCSB with majoring in physics a few days ago, but I haven’t and I’m not even taking Physics 3. And I got accepted to UCI (Mechanical engineering).
So yeah don’t overthink and guess what the offices are considering. We’ve gone through enough and stress will only make us feel bad so don’t be! (YES IM STILL NERVOUS)
