kkiiji don’t convince them. let them live off campus! lol

Torrey Pines is basically a beach. It is on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and you can walk down to the beach. Its pretty long walk. Its really beautiful though. Its like 5 minutes by car from campus.

My mistake = ) anyway…the only good thing I see about living on campus might be that its 5 min from classes… but there’s that HUGE price tag. You could find an incredible place for that amount of money / month if you look on craigs list. They have master bedrooms with own bath going for about 700 a month…thats 600ish left over for…i dont know… taking the laddies out? buying another motorcycle? saving for next years tuition? new computer?.. I just think the money being saved by living off campus is much better than then convenience factor. Keep in mind a lot of people go home weekends so i doubt youd be missing out on much. Your better off joining frat/ sorority to make some friends.

i was convinced, until comfycouch came in, now im back to where i was…you guys are cruel…

double major sounds alot of work, how many upper division classes are usually needed to get a degree for each major??

i think if money is your big deciding factor i’d say do off campus

Like 14 per major?? I don’t know.

It’s not just money really, the freedom of living off campus is quite appealing too. It feels more real worldish, and you actually get to throw parties and stuff.

Good legendary, you’re exactly where I’m at. Can’t make up my freaking mind. :(

Lol Kayla you’re just trying to up your own chances. :D

haha daym, say i want to major in something bio and engineering, is that possible??

freedom is good, theres place to fix my car, coz i dont think theyll let you do it in the dorm…

sorry kayla, i already applied for housing…

I think its pretty easy to Major in any of the majors at the school of Engineering and minor in Math.

Why not just do bioengineering? :D

Yeah I’m pretty sure you can major in bio and engineering separately, shouldn’t be a problem if you’re on the top of your academic game.

ummm did u say its easy to major in engineering? are you high? EE has a very low grad rate and the classes are quite hard… adding a minor will add 3 to 4 quarters to your ed time… have fun

yeah i know too much people doing bioengineering…haha

since i did most of the prereq for cogsci and engineering might as well do both…

holy crap, uchopefully thats scary…

I didn’t mean it like that…I meant it is easiest to minor in Math then anything else because you already would have taken most of those classes.

im just wondering, whats the point of a minor?? haha im so lame

it “minorly” helpful but that time good go into getting a grad degree which is much more helpful!

Heh, I mentioned it in the other thread, but I’m looking to take in a roommate for Summer Session I and maybe Summer Session II, if anybody needs temp housing for that period.

hmm hows the house searching, i wont be able to move till september…

oh yea so on you guys financial aid summary, does it include cal grant??

It does.
Pell Grant $5,350
Possible Cal Grant A + $7,788
National SMART Grant + $4,000
UCSD Grant + $2,447
Other Outside Aid + $0

Total Gift Aid = $19,585
Total Student’s Share = $5,400
Subsidized Stafford Loan $5,400

Total Parent’s Share = $0

Total Resources to Meet Net Cost = $5,400
Total Gift Aid $19,585
Total Resources to Meet Net Cost $5,400

Total Estimated Aid = $24,985

Although Cal Grant’s site says I got a Cal Grant B instead which is 9000 something, so that’s going to change things a bit.
<a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home;

Housing search ain’t going that great honestly, the only one I’ve found that has a lease that starts in September is that one I linked but the link is dead now. It said they’re having a viewing session on May 23rd so I’m going to go take a look and let you guys know what’s up.

dude i have the same total for financial aid as you, but it doesnt include cal grant and my ucsd grant is like 10k… so i tried registering for that website and it said my infos arent in the database…watdafkkk?! did you turn in a gpa verification thingy??

oh man well at least theres still like 4 months left to look haha…i would help but im in sacramento…lol

yeah mine says cal gratn but i dont get one so ucsd grant will make up the difference

I guess Total Gift Aid $19,585 is what they’re going for. Meaning that even if I do get cal grant B it’ll still end up being Total Gift Aid $19,585.

I did turn in the verification thing, well my school did it for me actually. I don’t know why you wouldn’t be getting the cal grant, maybe if you’ve skipped a year of schooling or if you’ve been to a 4 year before or something. Not sure.
