UCSD off campus housing pt 2

Canyon Park is too expensive.

Can you find anything cheaper in UTC? (:

Edit: Looks like they’ve got a discounted listing on Craigslist: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/apa/1162654991.html

Well the thing is, I’d rather split a 3 bedroom house to get a cheaper cost per room. It appears that it’s very easy to find these 3 bedroom houses for $2000 or less. They got any at Canyon Park?

I see what you’re saying. They do have a 3 bedroom for $2,000. But there are better offerings in the vicinity. Playmor is a great condo community, with frequent availability in that area. The common area for each condo is huge, with all the bedrooms upstairs. There’s a shuttle not too far down the street that comes every 10-15 minutes during peak times.

Really?? Craigslist doesn’t show any. Maybe I should actually go and look.

Go to floor plans on the site, then it shows a link to look for availability. Really poor setup.

My roommate is looking to move out. We have a 4 bedroom house in University City (near UTC) and her room is the master bedroom for $760/month. She wants to move out asap, so if someone wants to move in for June and take over her lease, I can talk to my roommates about it…if not, I’ll keep you guys posted on if the room is still available in September (although I won’t be living there from June-January as I’ll be studying abroad)

KGZ what do u know about regencia hotels ?

La Regencia? If that’s the place, I’ve got a friend there in a two bedroom. Aside from price, what I know is that it’s right next to grocery shopping, walking distance to the movies, and right next to a shuttle stop–again, one of the 10-15 minute ones. It’s one of the new big internal entry numbers. I don’t know the price at all, but my friend’s place has a pretty decently sized common area.

here’s what the village looks like right now… [YouTube - The Village at Torrey Pines (UCSD)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvEGJAzTlmQ)

either an earthquake or some bad camera work = )

Bad camera work. I really don’t see these things being done in time. If I had a decent camera, I’d take some pics for you. As it is, all i have is my iphone… :(

was it just me or did they sound a bit nervous when ever they talked about completion of the village. Oh dont worry about there not being walls up yet… it will be completed Oo

good point alex

Do they have a date for the lottery results? It seems like if they were confident, they’d release the results so people can start planning.

They said something about mid june (not too sure)

heres one …a 3br for 1800…

tho its 7 miles away from school…

^That’s gonna take you about 30 to 45 minutes with traffic.

The 41 might go down that far, and it’s free, but then it’s a longer trip and you may or may not be the type to study on the bus. If you’re going to drive, figure in parking costs: something like $60/mo? (Maybe more, I don’t really know)

Just a few things to weigh. (:

in that case…cmon on campus housing!!! cant wait till mid-june…
