I recently got accepted as a transfer to UC Davis and UC San Diego and having a tough time choosing which one would be better for me if I want to go to one of the top law schools.

Both UCD and UCSD are ranked similarly at around 38 in the nation but UCSD is ranked 8th for poli sci, my major, and UCD is ~23. How important is rank?

I figure I'd have better internship opportunities in Sacramento at UCD than down in SD. How much impact will a few summer internships have on my application?

UCD sounds like it'd be a little easier academically and raising my GPA sounds important as I have a bout a 3.3 and hopefully can get into the 3.5 range. With a 3.5-3.6, a 170+ LSAT, and what i'd think to be an URM (Afghan) how would my chances be at at the top 10 schools.

Do Law schools look at CC GPA/coursework and is it weighted or looked at differently?

If anyone could comment or validate these it'd help me make my decision.
