UCSD Public Health VS UCI Biological Sciences

Which campus is more lively? Which campus has better housing? (I’m in sixth) and which campus+major is less competitive? I want a high GPA and would like time to volunteer/do research because I plan to go to either med or PA school after!

UCSD is generally accepted to have a livelier (read: less boring) campus than Irvine.
I don’t know about Irvine’s housing, but Sixth has terrible dorms for first years and great apartments for second years.
UCSD is overall considered more challenging, but I’d call it collaborative and not cutthroat. Its division of biological sciences is top-10 in the nation, but the public health major is offered through the School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, which I can’t tell you much about. I think volunteering and research opportunities are where UCSD has an edge over most other UCs. There are four hospitals on campus and tons of research opportunities for undergrads and others, thanks to the fifth-largest research budget in the country. I’d tour both campuses if you get the chance; I’m kinda biased as a UCSD student and I’m sure many people prefer the vibe at Irvine.
