UCSD Question, help please!

<p>So, I got accepted into UCSD and I pretty much finished the IGETC for everything...</p>

<p>However, I took Bio 1A this quarter (Bio1A doesn't count for my IGETC) and let's just say the final killed my grade :/ I got a D in the class. It's the only class that totally killed me, my other classes, I received an A...</p>

<p>I wanted to know if summer courses could help replace it, or is there a chance they might take away my admission offer now? Any information would help.</p>

<p>Thank you!</p>

<p>Howdy. It depends i think on what your conditions of acceptance were. </p>

<p>Have you read that part of your application? I think different people have different conditions. But just as an example, mine says this:</p>

<p>"Conditions of Admission:</p>

<pre><code>* Complete at least 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of Spring term 2010 with an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.00.

  • Remain in good academic standing in your last regular term with at least a 2.00 GPA for UC-transferable course work for that term.
  • Complete two UC-transferable English composition courses; one UC-transferable math course by the end of Fall term 2009; the remaining four UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following areas-arts and humanities, social behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences-must be completed by the end of Spring term 2010.
  • Complete IGETC with full certification by the end of Spring term 2010.
  • Pass subject requirements with grades of “C” or better.
  • If there are other conditions attached to your admission, an additional document will be mailed to you.
  • Your admission will be subject to immediate cancellation if:
    o there are any inconsistencies between data reported on your application and official documents;
o all provisions have not been met, regardless of your enrollment status."
    </code></pre>

<p>It looks like the only point that would affect you is the second one (if you have the same condition). So i have two questions–
(1) Did you get a ‘D’ on your last term, or second to last.
(2) Should we read that line as meaning that each class must get a 2.00 (i.e. a ‘C’), or that you just need a 2.00 overall for the last term. I lean towards the second of these.</p>

<p>Hey  </p>

<p>My contract is pretty much the same as yours, as I got in because of the tag agreement. </p>

<p>I got a D this time for Winter 2010  My most recent Bio class. But I got A’s in both of my other classes ><; I am hoping that as long as I maintain my 3.0 I will still be accepted. </p>

<p>I wouldn’t mind taking bio over the summer again either, but I don’t think UCs accept summer grades.</p>

<p>yes, but is the winter quarter your last term? By that I mean the very last term you will take at your current college, not what term you most recently had =D. Are you going to take a spring quarter? If so, you might not have to worry about the D at all, as it wasn’t your last (i.e. final) term.</p>

<p>Or maybe i’m interpreting ‘last’ wrong? Eh, i guess i haven’t been much help =D</p>

<p>ah, no you’ve been quite helpful :)</p>

<p>it’s not my last quarter. I’m planning to take spring quarter too. (Adding an extra online class will hopefully also help bump my gpa up…)</p>
