Hello, I just got off the waitlist from UCSD and am going to commit there. Is the rescind policy for UCSD the same as other UC’s where I cannot get below a 3.0 weighted GPA and cannot get anything below a C? I couldn’t find an exact answer online. Thanks!
In past years, yes UCSD’s rescind policy was a 3.0 weighted GPA, no D’s or F’s. This should be spelled out upon SIRing.
From the UCSD website:
All offers of admission are provisional until your test results and official final high school transcript (and college transcript, if applicable) have verified your self-reported academic data. Offers of admission will be rescinded if
-you have discrepancies between your official transcripts and your self-reported academic record
-you do not complete the “a–g” courses listed as “in progress” or “planned”
-you do not complete your twelfth-grade courses at the same academic level as your previous course work
@Gumbymom so I put on my applications that my Civics class would be a full year semester but actually, it was just a one-semester class. and the other semester I took economics. would this affect my admission.
@iLoveLuffy
Just email admissions about the mistake and it should not be an issue. Keep any documentation you receive in case they question your self reported info vs your final transcript. This is a minor mistake.
@Gumbymom is it mandatory to finish the GE by the end of sophomore year? if not can we finish some GE in junior year?
@iLoveLuffy: I suggest you post your questions on your own discussion since this post is about the rescind policy at UCSD and not about GE’s. Also not sure what you are asking in the first place. GE’s for your major at UCSD?
@gumbymom I was thinking if I could take some ERC GE (MMW) on my third year
@iLoveLuffy
You can spread out your GE’s over all 4 years just make sure you take the pre-req courses needed for major or upper division GE’s early on.
