Hey I know that nobody has commented on this post in years but I am thinking of going on exchange from UCD in Ireland to UCSD. Basically I do Mechanical Engineering, I do surfing, downhill, mountain biking and snowboarding which I am aware are supposed to be class over in san diego. The only thing that is kinda concerning me is the partying. Like do people usually go out lots during the week or at the weekend? And do ye go to clubs or house parties? And can someone honestly say what ucsd is like for partying and what is the story with house parties. Like I will probably be living on campus, in ihouse, so whats the story with parties there or do people usually go off campus for parties.

Cheers, thanks for the help.

Joe.

@joey2601 - I am not really the expert on these things, but ihouse is definitely the place to be if you are looking for a party on campus. Other than that, I think the parties on campus gets crash by the police or RA pretty often ( and sometimes off-campus ones too but only during like rush week and stuff. though i am not really quite sure how often because I only heard from my friends and such; maybe they just had bad luck?)

Pretty much the ihouse or the east /west village. Just follow where the music is coming from. As long as you’re outgoing / not creepy/ have a unique perspective on topics/ PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE// the ability to converse on diverse topics /// you’ll have a great social life.

Join any organization on campus // perhaps 2 or 3 your first quarter. It’s not that hard to meet people on campus and just get involved like check communicateucsd! Or triton leadership challenges along with multiple workshops offered every quarter through the numerous orgs on campus.
