ucsd tag

i don't get this sentence from Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) 2009-2010 :

"If you indicate TAG AND(?) Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) on your UCSD application, you will be guaranteed admission if you meet the TAG requirements."

doesn't the tag itself already a guarantee? do i have to finish igetc before applying or sign the tag?

before transferring

The only requirement for UCSD TAG is to complete the IGETC. If you don’t complete IGETC by the end of spring they can possibly rescind you (but I doubt they will)
So when you apply for UCSD through the UC app you check the box that says something like “IGETC will be completed” and you also check the box for “UCSD TAG”

let me make this clear…

ucsd tag does NOT require students to finish igetc prior writing the tag(which is after the first year of cc), but finish it prior transferring?

^ That’s right.

so technically there is no written form to fill out?? just state it on your app…right??
what if i clicked the igetc form but there was no ucsd tag??

There WAS a UCSD tag button, and you’re out of luck buddy. Sorry about that. Im sure you are still competitive, though, what are your stats?

I missed the tag by .1 last semester. After fall my gpa was 2.9 and tag required a 3.0. but what if i went to 2 CC’s and at the first one i had a 3.3 and the second one that im transferring from i have a 2.9 could i still do the tag

Savage, they look at the combined from both colleges, like all your classes combined
