UCSD to UCLA

Hi,

I study at UCSD, major in applied math and econ(double major). I want to transfer to UCLA. What the chance of being accepted to UCLA applied math if I have a 3.7 GPA?

(Two of my friends got in UCLA math econ)

Thanks!

bump this thread!

I can’t speak to your chances, but why not apply for the Math/Econ program.

average gpa admitted to ucla’s math applied for fall 2011 was 3.63, I would say you have a good chance of landing a spot.
and for math/econ, 3.7 is good enough, and that is their average gpa.
total was 80 people applied for math applied, 36 got admitted, and average gpa of the people who applied are 3.35.

Actually, I am interested in UCLA applied math pathways, like actuarial. I don’t want to do math econ coz this seems the combination of two minors to me.

Thanks for your stats. That gives me more confidence. I will push my GPA up this year =)
