UCSD Transfer 2014 Waitlist?

@spottedgiraffes we dont need to send in any transcripts or extra paper work unless we are accepted

@Ameezus Thanks for calling!

Last year the first batch came out on June 4th, the second on June 7th, and the last one which was mostly people getting rejected was June 12th. I’m hoping they get back to us quickly since we all have to figure out housing and everything else:/

Well Ill be watching for June 4th.

@CENGpers oh its nothing really. I just was referring to my terms seeing as I haven’t been accepted to any of the schools I applied ( Berkeley, ucla, usc, ucsb) so ucsd is my last hope in order to ensure I can enter a school into my csac profile in order to solidify my Cal grant. If you already have a school you’ve been accepted to than you should be totally fine.

I know I can successfully appeal ucsb and get in due to my stellar spring grades…but even if I did June 20th would be long gone and I’d lose my Cal grant. And besides I want to go to ucsd so much more than ucsb.

Do you guys think the admission officers will look at and consider your upward trend in GPA for waitlist applicant?

@darren808‌ this is a complete blind guess but the way I see it is that you send your transcripts after you get accepted so they can’t really see your improvement in the last semester until you’ve already been accepted.

@Ameezus‌
Good to know. But I was actually referring to a student’s transcript as a whole. So all grades up to fall 2014 I suppose. So an upward trend up until the fall semester.

Thx for the response, too.

@darren808‌ oh if that’s the case then I’m sure they like to see improvement

@Ameezus‌ Cool.

I really hope all waitlists get admitted. I mean ALL.

or everyone on this site at least lol

We’ve just been waiting for so long. I feel if they released a batch on the 4th of last year, they would release one around the same time this year. I didn’t get in anywhere this year and this is my last resort. I’ve taken 80 units already and I’ve been out of school for a year already because there are no more classes to take. I got into UCSD and UCSB out of high school, I just don’t understand how it’s so much harder as a transfer student!!! Im a communication major with a 3.43 :(

Well…just got off the phone with a ucsd rep and they said they have NO CLUE when they will release waitlist decisions at this point…smh. so we’re most likely looking at maybe a June 15th or later release…idk why ucsd is taking so long with this waitlist thing…I’d totally just like to know already…I want my acceptance soooo darn bad…but the waiting continues…

Man how hard could it be? All you would have to do is count out the number of positive SIR, then see if it reached the target SIR. Only 2 things we can deduce from this delay:

  1. They didn’t even establish the number of sir they wanted and trying to figure out NOW (SUPER unlikely)
  2. They already reached the number that they wanted and waiting to see if anyone will cancel it.
    God I hope its not 2

@Cdelta‌ Maybe I’m over-optimistic but I doubt number 2 is possible… Im basing my theory on UCSD’s past transfer stats. You can see it here–> <a href=“Undergraduate Statistics”>Undergraduate Statistics;

It shows that ever since 2010, SIR/register rate has been around 30-34%, if I’m not misinterpreting the graph and its numbers…

Whatever the case may be, I just wish they send out acceptance. Not all who get off the waitlist SIR anyway.

Wait what? I don’t see anything… please don’t be a ■■■■■ :(

I am not, I swear. But I did just barely miss getting in anyway, since I missed the engineering GPA by .01-.02. There’s got to be others in here. I literally checked before posting my stats. Then checked an hour later.
