UCSD Transfer - Supplemental Application (Studio Art) Help please!

Hey, anyone who’s applying for an art major or would like to help,
Cutting it close to the deadline here, but when I double checked to make sure I had everything for my supplemental, I got very confused… The site says “At this time, transfer students do not need to submit an additional art portfolio to be considered for the Visual Arts department.” I must have printed out the requirements for the freshman supplemental. But I can still make a SlideRoom and upload a portfolio anyway.
So does this mean transfer students don’t NEED to submit a portfolio but they could/should? Or does this mean they don’t want a portfolio at all?
Please help before I make a complete fool of myself! Nothing like college applications to make you overthink every guideline you read.

EDIT: Another reason I’m confused is because my UC application says “You have applied to a major that requires a supplemental application. Please visit the supplemental application website for additional instructions.” That could just be because it’s automatic as an undergraduate application choice, but I want to be sure.

Hey! I’m applying for Visual Arts (Media) and it also tells me that it’s required so I’m just submitting anyway!

Hey- I emailed admissions and they got back to me several days later. I said the Visual Arts site said it wasn’t required, and this is what they told me:
“Please go with the Visual Arts website statement. Each department rules on whether or not portfolios or auditions are required.”
If you’ve already submitted it I don’t think it’ll be a big deal, because I think a lot of students will be confused. But if you haven’t, it seems like they don’t want it…?
I guess it can’t hurt though!
Good luck with your application, I wish you all the best!.

Oh really? Oh well haha all the best to you too!
