weekness: obviously poor GPA. I started very good and had almost a 4.0 by the end of my first year then just stopped caring.</p>
<p>strengths: Except for my GPA everything else counts as strengths. personal statements, met all the prereq, ECs and especially the waitlist statement.</p>
<p>well, I got in but don’t know if they will take me yet due to my one bad spring grade… thanks for everyone who posted in this tread. As the creator of this thread, I am glad if this thread helped anyone who got waitlisted and who will in 2014.

<p>I’m going to visit the school this Saturday. I still haven’t decided on what to do. I need to SIR to UCSD though. Lets hope I don’t get rescinded submitting SIR to two UC’s.</p>
<p>Got in! Chemical Engineering Marshall college. 3.29 GPA, veteran, lots of academic extra curricular involvement, and a very strong wait list essay (in my opinion of course).</p>

<p>eeeeep. I got in! 3.25 gpa biochemistry. Got into marshall! 
eeep so excited this was my dream school! :)</p>
<p>In! Revelle college in Ecology and Evolutionrary Biology with a 3.28 and a lot of EC’s. So happy right now!</p>
<p>I decided to revoke my SIR to UCD and SIR to UCSD.<br>
Here’s some things that helped me decide:</p>
<ol>
<li>Location, Location, Location! Beautiful Sunny San Diego!</li>
<li>Although Davis is a “College Town,” San Diego is HUGE with soo much to do! I just ran a Half-Marathon there this past weekend.</li>
<li>San Diego surprisingly is giving me a BETTER financial aid package than Davis is!! And the tuition is cheaper overall</li>
<li>I’m an older transfer student, I’m not really into partying, frats, and stuff with younger students. I’m also a bartender and am surrounded by alcohol everyday. Dorm parties don’t really appeal to me haha</li>
<li>UCDavis is too close to home! I’m from the Bay and although I’ll be leaving my home–it’s only for 2 years! Why not spend it elsewhere, being at Davis I could go home all the time. Boring. =)</li>
<li>My sister is in San Diego, I can room with her meaning cheaper rent!</li>
<li>If you’re into prestige and all that, I think UCSD > UCD</li>
<li>The campus is just beautiful, everything looks either upgraded or new. The buildings are not run-down or old looking like Davis’ buildings</li>
<li>I visited Mexico this past weekend, it was pretty dope haha</li>
<li>CALIFORNIA BURRITOS & BEACHES ALL DAY BABY.</li>
</ol>
<p>But if you wanted to know what I DIDN’T like about SD I can tell you that also.</p>
<p>UCI gave me a Full-Ride but the majors they offered sucked. =P</p>
<p>I would like to know what you didn’t like about SD.</p>
<p>I am having a hard time deciding between UCI and UCSD. I also got a full ride and extra money to go to UCI.</p>
