UCSD Transfers, Gather Here

Really? XD The idea of living with another person in the room creeps me out, especially another guy.

Make friends with cars  Because really it’s hard to get around SD without a car. The public transit is really poor.

yeah parking permit on campus is $55-61 per month or 732 per year…about the same at all other UCs

[Annual Parking Permits for Students](http://www.ucsd.edu/current-students/student-life/parking-and-transportation/permits/annual-parking.html)

Ideally, I think I would just try to live somewhere close to where the UCSD Bus loop has stops

check out ucsdbus.com

Just cause you bring your car down doesn’t mean you have to drive back to the bay to visit. I’m bringing mine, but plan on flying back for visits.

yea i’m gonna be bringing my car down for sure, but just for extra curricular stuff. to avoid paying that 700 dollar parking permit i’ll probably just buy a bike or something.

muir college <3

parking is expensive but i know ill be going places probably during the weekend so ill need my car :)

Yeah my friend at UCSD goes bar hopping all the time at downtown, doing that without a car is kind of insane. If you like going drinking or partying at SDSU, a car is very wise.

just make sure it doesn’t get jacked… its right next to Mexico… once its over the border its bye bye…

good point dark dream, that would be horrible

Does that kinda stuff really happen? Or is it just dumb hype like swine flu? I mean does anyone know someone who got their car jacked in Tijuana or something?

I’m sure it’s happened before, but ya I believe swine flu is being way to hyped up

LOL wow. If it gets jacked it’s most likely gonna be found in SD and not in TJ. So far I’ve known one person that got their car jacked, and they found it stripped a block away from their house. And in La Jolla, the crime rate is really low. Also, if you’re gonna bring a car, you can just live really close and not take the car to campus and just use it to go out. Parking should be free in your apartment complex, and you don’t have to pay for a parking permit. Unlike the Bay Area, you don’t have to pay for parking everywhere in SD.

im sixth
Engineering
on campus is crazy for housing

they told me u cant bring your car if you live in transfer dorm : / plus construction on going …direct quote… loud and dusty

you can’t bring your car if youre in the transfer dorm. o that’s bs. I’m bringing my car even if I get in. I’ll leave it parked elsewhere haha

watdafkkk…thats bs if we cant park if were in the transfer dorm…where will i put my piece of crap??

I think it might be that you can’t put it in the transfer dorm lot. I doubt you actually can’t buy a parking pass if you’re in the transfer dorms, that makes no sense. There are plenty of lots on campus, a lot of them are not affected by construction.

If somebody stole my car, it’d be a blessing. lol

who’s going to be 21 and ready to hit up the bars this fall?

hi all,

i got into muir for computer science. i plan on living on campus if i can, and am going to transfer admit day this saturday :)

anyone else majoring in comp sci?

yea if i can’t have by car by the dorm i’m still going to get a pass so i can park on campus for sure.

i’ll be 21 borya. I’m 21 now actually lol
