UCSD seems to be a popular school on these threads, which is pretty cool.

I signed a TAG contract in the '04 fall semester from a near by community college so I'm quite excited to start up there in fall '05 as a Chem major in sixth college. I can literally count my days as a community college student coming to an end, so awesome!

I have little insider info on the campus its self, but San Diego is different story.
I've been here since birth, 22 years, and been around the corner a time or two.

For those of you considering UCSD and have any practical questions about San Diego (where to live, what to do, approx cost of living, etc...) fire away, I'll be happy to help.

hows rent over there?
i checked out SD for transfers and they say that they dont provide housing for transfer students.
How far is everything from campus? if we wanna go out or hwatever, how far is everything? How hot does it get? hahaa, as i live in sacramento and it gets bloody hot here in the summer. And ..yes, approx cost of living would be helpful as well!

i have a friend transferred there like 2 years ago. and she only paid like $600/month for living nearby the beach. (sharing in a 2-bed/2-bath apt.)

my best friend lives in sd and goes to school there. she found an apartment right after her first year ended, and they gave her a discount too. it is best to look for apartments right after spring semester ends because people graduate or leave in the summer. so june should be perfect timing.
